That's bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. That's what "feeding the hungry beans" has meant around our house lately. Little Bean is on week three of a nasty bout of, eh, you know. I'm so sick of it I don't even want to type the word.

But he has been granted a reprieve from this prison diet. Our pediatrician said, essentially, "It's clearly not working so cut the poor kid a break." She recommended one of those schmancy, highly advertised live-culture yogurts instead. And, darned if we aren't seeing a tiny bit of progress on the um... you know... front.

After 4.5 years on the parenting front lines, I'm pretty inured to the disgusting stuff. I've just had it up to here with this round.

How odd! Did I post a comment on the last two posts? I meant to. Anyhow, good to see you back.

Hope all are better.

Re:What brought you back. My 2nd was a refuser. After 16 weeks of tears, tantrums and constant trying, all from me - I gave up. The guilt was unbelievable but he's actually the healthier of the two.

Thanks so much, Amanda! The little guy is all better. The whole episode wreaked havoc on what little potty training progress we had made, but at least he's not in pain any more.

And kudos to you -- both for trying for so long and for recognizing that sometimes it just isn't going to work.

I don't know how good I'll be at this blogging thing. I need deadlines!

You should just do it as and when you want to. I need deadlines too - but more for housework! I'll think of any excuse, eg: blogging to get out of it.. Take care x
